London, England, United Kingdom, October 2025 – Linnworks, a leading eCommerce automation platform, has appointed Sophie Allison as its new Chief People Officer. In this strategic leadership role, Sophie will oversee global people operations, culture development, and talent strategy as the company continues to scale its international footprint and empower businesses to manage their entire eCommerce ecosystem from a single platform.
Sophie Allison brings more than a decade of progressive experience in people strategy, talent acquisition, and organizational transformation across high-growth technology and digital companies. Her leadership reflects a deep understanding of scaling people functions in dynamic, global, and investor-backed environments.
Before joining Linnworks, Sophie spent over five years at Bark.com, where she played a pivotal role in transforming the company’s people and culture strategy. As Human Resources Director, she reported directly to the CEO and served as a key strategic partner to EMK Capital, the private equity investor behind Bark. She architected and scaled the company’s entire People & Talent function from the ground up—expanding the team from 43 to over 250 employees across 12 countries.
At Bark, Sophie implemented global frameworks for talent acquisition, reward and recognition, employee engagement, and culture transformation. She built a nine-person People team spanning HR, Talent, Payroll, and People Experience, dramatically cut time-to-hire to 34 days, eliminated agency costs, and drove initiatives that improved retention and internal mobility. She also led HR operations for Bark’s international expansion across the US, India, Australia, Germany, and France—introducing localized policies, benefits, and compliance systems aligned with company growth.
Before joining Bark, Sophie was Talent Acquisition Partner at The White Company, where she led recruitment for digital, technology, marketing, and creative functions during a major IT restructure. She successfully delivered 42 hires in under 12 months, saving the business £255,000 in agency fees, and worked closely with the CTO to establish a new engineering structure and leadership team.
Earlier in her career, Sophie built her recruitment expertise across prominent agencies including Salt, 24 Seven Talent, and HGA Group, where she led end-to-end hiring for eCommerce, retail, and creative sectors globally. She began her career at Burberry, where she worked as Buying Wholesale Administrator – Emerging Markets, gaining early exposure to operations in international luxury retail.
Sophie’s professional journey demonstrates a consistent record of strategic people leadership, data-informed decision-making, and the ability to align HR strategy with business transformation—qualities that will be instrumental in her new role at Linnworks.
