Bengaluru, Karnataka, India | July 2026 — Syngene International Limited has appointed Sreenivasulu Bandaru as Head of Chemical Development, Small Molecule CDMO. In his new role, he will lead the company’s chemical development capabilities for its Small Molecule Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) business, driving innovation across process development, scale-up, and Chemistry, Manufacturing & Controls (CMC) to support global pharmaceutical clients.
Sreenivasulu brings over 24 years of experience in process research, medicinal chemistry, and pharmaceutical development. Prior to joining Syngene International, he spent nearly 19 years at Sai Life Sciences Ltd., most recently serving as Vice President – Global Head, Process Development (India & UK). During his tenure, he led global R&D teams, delivered more than 350 customer projects, and built collaborations with over 10 of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies.
Earlier, he held successive leadership roles including Vice President – Head, Process Research & Development, Associate Vice President, Senior Director, Director, Associate Director, and Principal Scientist within the organisation. Before Sai Life Sciences, he served as Senior Research Scientist at Albany Molecular Research, building strong expertise in medicinal chemistry, route scouting, process optimisation, and end-to-end chemical development.
Sreenivasulu completed Post-Doctoral research in Organic Chemistry at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and the University of Notre Dame. He also holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Hyderabad and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Chemistry from Osmania University.
