Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India, January 2026 – Subrat Chakravarty has taken on the role of Chief Human Resources Officer and Head of Business Excellence at DS Group, marking a significant leadership addition to one of India’s most respected FMCG conglomerates. In this dual mandate, he will steer the organization’s people strategy while also driving enterprise-wide business excellence, process transformation, and capability building aligned with DS Group’s long-term growth vision.
Prior to joining DS Group, Subrat Chakravarty spent over a decade with HCLTech, where he played multiple global leadership roles. For nearly eight years, he served as Head of Human Resources for Europe & Africa and Global Program Director – HR Process & Technology Transformation, overseeing HR operations across 31 countries. In this capacity, he led large-scale digital HR transformation initiatives, deployment of platforms such as SAP SuccessFactors and UKG, and the redesign of HR processes to support HCLTech’s global expansion. Earlier, for about three years, he was Global Head – Enterprise HR, shaping compensation strategies, shared services, and employee engagement frameworks for a rapidly scaling workforce.
Between his HCLTech stints, Subrat served as Chief People Officer at Birlasoft (CK Birla Group) for over two years, where he led organization design, talent strategy, payroll services, and leadership development for a global technology enterprise. His work focused on integrating HR with business growth priorities, strengthening governance, and building high-performance culture across multiple geographies.
In the earlier phase of his career, Subrat held senior roles at Aon Hewitt, HCL Technologies, Kenya Airways, L&T Infotech, and Indian Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd (IPCL). Across these organizations, he gained deep expertise in industrial relations, HR consulting, business analysis, and people technology transformation, establishing himself as a versatile leader capable of operating across manufacturing, aviation, IT services, and consulting environments.
He began his professional journey with Bata India Limited, spending nearly three years in core HR and industrial relations roles across Kolkata and Bengaluru. An alumnus of Xavier Institute of Social Service (PGDPM, HRD, PM&IR) and St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi (BA Hons, Economics), Subrat combines strong academic grounding with over three decades of cross-industry leadership experience.
