Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, February 2025 – Sumit Jhunjhunwala has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at IIFL Home Loans, where he will lead financial strategy, capital management, and risk mitigation. With over two decades of experience in treasury, fundraising, and financial operations, he has played a key role in enhancing financial stability and market positioning for leading financial institutions. Since May 2024, Sumit has been spearheading the treasury function at IIFL Home Finance, focusing on optimizing liquidity, managing investor relations, and driving financial efficiencies.
Before joining IIFL Home Loans, he served as Senior Vice President at Spandana Sphoorty Financial Limited, where he managed fundraising across banks, domestic financial institutions, capital markets, and international investors. His expertise in financial structuring and liquidity management was instrumental in strengthening Spandana’s financial framework.
Previously, Sumit worked at Poonawalla Fincorp for over three years, where he led bank borrowing strategies, securing long-term and short-term funding from public, private, and foreign financial institutions. His efforts contributed to a credit rating upgrade and cost optimization, positioning the company for sustainable financial growth.
Before that, he spent over eight years at Srei Equipment Finance Limited, leading resource mobilization and treasury operations. He successfully structured debenture placements, term loans, and capital market instruments, establishing strong relationships with regulatory bodies, banks, and financial institutions.
Sumit’s financial acumen was honed further during his tenure at ICICI Bank, where he handled structured finance and securitization for retail loan portfolios, overseeing portfolio analysis, credit risk management, and regulatory compliance. His experience also includes leadership roles at Srei Infrastructure Finance Limited, Airtel, and Vision Comptech Ltd, where he developed expertise in financial reporting, compliance, and strategic capital allocation.
