London, England, United Kingdom, September 2025 – Susan Edwards has been appointed as Chief People Officer, UK & Ireland at Scutum Group, a leading global provider of safety and security solutions. In her new role, Susan will be responsible for shaping and leading the people strategy across the UK and Ireland, supporting Scutum’s mission to protect people, property, and data through technological innovation and operational excellence.
Susan brings over 25 years of leadership experience across sectors including security, technology, life sciences, higher education, transport, and financial services. Most recently, she held the role of Director, People and Organisation Development at Goldsmiths, University of London, where she also served as Interim HR Director, driving workforce planning, culture transformation, and leadership development in a dynamic academic environment.
Prior to that, Susan led her own consultancy, Joined Up Thinking Unlimited, delivering interim HR leadership and people transformation projects for organizations across the public and private sectors. Her portfolio includes senior assignments at Wellcome Trust, Asthma + Lung UK, CashFlows, Earthport, and Visa, where she managed large-scale organizational change, employee consultations, and TUPE transitions across European jurisdictions.
Earlier in her career, she served as UK HR Director at Abellio Group, overseeing people strategy across multiple transport franchises with over 18,000 employees. She has also held high-impact HR leadership roles at University of Greenwich, Carrier HVAC, UTC Fire & Security, and Toshiba Carrier UK, operating in multi-country environments across EMEA.
Susan began her professional journey as a qualified solicitor before transitioning into HR. She holds a Master of Science in International HR from Cranfield School of Management, bringing together legal expertise and global HR leadership in complex, regulated environments.
