Los Angeles, California, United States – October 2024 – Tami Majer has taken on the role of Chief People Officer at the LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games. As part of the LA28 Organizing Committee, she will oversee a comprehensive HR strategy focused on talent, culture, and organizational readiness to deliver an exceptional experience for athletes and guests. Her efforts will center around cultivating a positive and inclusive environment that supports both the workforce and the mission of the Games.
Prior to joining LA28, Tami served as a Strategic HR Consultant and Fractional CHRO at TA Consulting. In this capacity, she led strategic HR initiatives, specializing in talent, culture, change management, and organizational development. Recently, she acted as the CHRO for JR Automation, a $700M division of Hitachi, where she drove HR transformation and enhanced culture.
Previously, Tami was the Chief People Officer at National Veterinary Associates (NVA) for nearly two years, leading a 140-member HR team. During her tenure, she prepared the organization for IPO, improved HR processes, and guided cultural transformation to accommodate rapid growth, ensuring alignment with NVA’s evolving business needs.
Earlier, Tami served as Chief Human Resources Officer at 24 Hour Fitness, where she led a national HR team in a private equity-backed environment. She built a strategic people roadmap that included onboarding, talent growth, and rewards transformation. Tami’s leadership during COVID-19 facilitated significant restructuring, reducing the organizational footprint by 150 clubs and nearly 18,000 employees.
Her journey also includes the role of SVP of Human Resources North America at Danone, where she led the people integration strategy following the acquisition of White Wave in 2017. Tami’s HR expertise extends to global roles at Mars Inc., including positions as Global Lead for Change Management and Culture at Mars Chocolate and Wrigley, SVP of HR at Banfield Pet Hospitals, and VP of People and Organization at Mars Canada, with progressively senior HR roles over 16 years.
