London Area, United Kingdom, January 2026 — Tech Mahindra has announced the appointment of Tarun Kohli as Senior Partner & Global Head – BFSI Consulting.
The company, in its official communication, expressed delight in welcoming him to the leadership team, highlighting his 28 years of global experience as a business and technology leader across the BFSI landscape. Tarun is widely recognized for driving large-scale transformation, enterprise strategy, and digital-first growth models, creating significant impact for customers and stakeholders worldwide. A Gold Medalist from IIT (BHU) and an ISB alumnus, he brings strong exposure to the fintech ecosystem and emerging technologies. In this new role, he will shape Tech Mahindra’s global BFSI consulting practice, strengthen value propositions, and identify long-term growth opportunities while scaling transformative outcomes for clients and partners.
In the immediate phase prior to joining Tech Mahindra, Tarun Kohli served in senior leadership roles at Swiss Re, spending around five years with the organization. As Managing Director – Group Delivery Services and Chairman of Swiss Re Solutions Ltd., and earlier as Managing Director – New Propositions, he led enterprise-wide delivery transformation, digital innovation, and new business models across global markets. His tenure at Swiss Re established him as a trusted leader in insurance and reinsurance technology modernization, customer-centric innovation, and strategic operating model redesign.
Before Swiss Re, Tarun spent over four years with Prudential plc and M&G plc, where he held the role of CTO & Director of Investment Portfolio and later CTO & Director of Enterprise & Data Architecture. During this period, he played a pivotal role in post-demerger technology strategy, investment architecture, and data transformation initiatives. His leadership helped modernize core platforms, strengthen enterprise architecture governance, and enable digital capabilities for large-scale investment and asset management businesses.
Earlier in his career, Tarun dedicated more than a decade to bp, holding multiple leadership roles including Head of Investment Programmes and Transformation Lead – EMEA IT Operations. He was instrumental in driving complex global transformation programs, operational excellence, and technology-enabled business change. He also contributed to the broader technology ecosystem through advisory roles with CIONET UK, Puppet, and MishiPay, reflecting his deep engagement with fintech innovation and industry collaboration.
Tarun’s professional journey began with Tech Mahindra, where he spent close to six years in roles such as Engagement Manager and Project Leader across India and Australia. His return to the organization as Global BFSI Consulting Head marks a significant homecoming, bringing together decades of global leadership experience with deep domain understanding of banking, insurance, and financial services transformation.
