Northlake, Illinois, United States, August 2025 — Empire Today has announced the appointment of Terry Gornet as Chief Human Resources Officer. In this role, she will lead the company’s HR organisation and team, driving initiatives to support talent development, organisational growth, and employee engagement across the business.
Gornet brings more than two decades of experience in human resources and talent management, with a track record of leading large-scale transformation efforts across multiple industries. Before joining Empire Today, she served as Head of Talent Management at Transamerica, where she led teams across talent acquisition, talent management, and diversity and inclusion.
Earlier in her career, she was SVP, Chief Talent Officer at TIAA, overseeing global talent management, succession planning, performance management, and leadership development. She also served as SVP, Human Resources at American Tire Distributors, where she managed HR and safety functions for a nationwide network of associates.
Gornet’s earlier leadership roles include SVP, Leadership Development at Bank of America, where she guided organisational effectiveness through mergers, acquisitions, and economic challenges; and multiple senior roles at The Home Depot, including HR Director and Six Sigma Black Belt, where she contributed to enterprise-wide human resources strategies and operational efficiencies.
