Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, June 2024 – Thorsten Mueller has taken on the new role of Chief Human Resources Officer and HR Country Manager at Athlon Germany. In this position, Thorsten will lead strategic HR planning, transformation initiatives, and oversee all HR functions within the organization.
Before joining Athlon Germany, Thorsten spent nearly 16 years at Mercedes-Benz AG. Most recently, he served as the Head of HR Transformation People Operations Germany (Time Management), where he designed strategies for the modernization and digitalization of Time Management. Prior to this role, he was the Lead Global Assignment Management CoC Processes, Systems and Audit in Beijing, China, overseeing the standardization of processes, digitalization of operations, and conducting audits.
Thorsten also held the position of Head of Human Resources TASIAP GmbH, where he was responsible for the full range of HR activities, including international HR management, security concepts for challenging markets, people development, and training. Earlier, he led the Global Recruiting Strategy project, developing and implementing a comprehensive global recruiting strategy for all Daimler entities. Additionally, he served as the Project Lead Recruiting Service Center HR, where he expanded the existing Recruiting Center for the Daimler Group in Germany and Europe. His career at Mercedes-Benz AG began as the Head of HR Daimler Group Services Madrid, responsible for HR operations in Madrid, Spain.
