London, United Kingdom, June 2024 – Tim Jones has joined Barclays as the new HR Director.
In this role, I will lead the people agenda for the Investment Bank, Private Bank and Wealth Management, UK Corporate Bank, and the US Consumer Bank. I look forward to working with Tristram Roberts and the Barclays team to drive CS Venkatakrishnan’s vision for Barclays to be simpler, better, and more balanced.
Tim Jones
Tim’s most recent role was at LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group), where he served as the Chief People Officer for over twelve years. In this capacity, he was instrumental in enhancing organizational effectiveness by providing strategic recommendations to the Board of Directors and executive leadership. Tim led efforts to elevate hiring and promotion opportunities for underrepresented talent, served as Executive Sponsor for DE&I initiatives, and implemented an enterprise-wide learning and development program, significantly increasing the workforce’s knowledge base and technical skills.
Before joining LSEG, Tim worked at Aegis Media, Aegis Plc for nearly six years. He held several roles, including HR Director for Europe, Middle East, and Africa, HR Director for Northern Europe, and HR Director for UK and Ireland. During his tenure, he developed and executed HR strategies that supported the company’s rapid growth and expansion across these regions, focusing on talent management, employee engagement, and organizational development.
Earlier in his career, Tim spent over fourteen years at Marks and Spencer. He held multiple HR leadership positions, including Head of HR for Per Una, Head of HR for The Zip Project Ltd., and Head of HR for Corporate Comms & Marketing and the Board. Tim was responsible for managing HR operations across various international markets, driving strategic HR initiatives, and supporting the company’s corporate communications and marketing efforts.
Tim’s extensive career in HR began with roles of increasing responsibility within Marks and Spencer, where he started as a Management Trainee and Assistant Manager and eventually moved up to Assistant Manager and Manager roles at M&S Ireland Ltd. His diverse experience across different sectors and regions has equipped him with a deep understanding of human capital management and strategic HR leadership.
