New York, United States, January 2026 — Essen Health Care, a leading integrated healthcare network serving communities across New York, has appointed Tomas Lazo as Vice President, People & Culture. In his new role, Lazo will lead Essen’s people and culture agenda, strengthening the organisation’s HR strategy, employee experience, workforce planning, and leadership development as the network continues to expand its patient-focused model across multiple care divisions.
With a strong background in HR operations and strategic HR business partnering, Tomas Lazo brings deep expertise in organisational design, talent management, employee engagement, workforce planning, and HR policy leadership. His appointment reinforces Essen’s commitment to building strong, high-performing teams that can deliver consistent, community-centred healthcare outcomes.
Prior to joining Essen Health Care, Tomas Lazo spent nearly nine years with GenesisCare U.S., where he held progressively senior HR leadership responsibilities. Most recently, he served as Director HR Operations & Senior HR Business Partner, leading HR operations while partnering closely with leadership teams on people strategy, workforce priorities, and organisational effectiveness in a multi-site environment. Over the years at GenesisCare, he built strong capabilities in HR transformation, employee relations, compensation, performance management, and strategic HR advisory support.
Before GenesisCare, Lazo worked with Securitas Security Services USA, Inc. as a Human Resources Manager, gaining hands-on experience in HR operations, compliance, and workforce management in a high-volume services environment.
Earlier in his career, he served as Human Resources Generalist at Turnberry Associates, supporting HR processes and people initiatives across multiple business areas. He also worked with Sheraton Miami Airport Hotel & Executive Meeting Center as an HR Coordinator, developing foundational expertise in employee lifecycle processes, HR administration, engagement, and policy implementation.
Adding to his strong professional profile, Tomas Lazo holds an MBA in Human Resources Management and Services from Louisiana State University, further strengthening his leadership capabilities in aligning people strategy with business outcomes.
