Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, September 2025 – People in Need has appointed Tricia Turbold as Country Director in Mongolia. In this role, she will lead strategic programs, operations, and partnerships to strengthen the organization’s humanitarian and development impact in the country.
Tricia most recently served at The Asia Foundation in Mongolia for nearly five years. As Director, People, Operations, and Fundraising, she spearheaded organizational growth and resource mobilization, while earlier, as Director of Economic Empowerment Programs, she advanced initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods and sustainable economic opportunities across Mongolia.
Before that, Tricia was Resident Director at the American Center for Mongolian Studies (ACMS), where she led academic exchanges, collaborative research, and institutional partnerships to support cross-cultural learning in Mongolia and Inner Asia.
Her leadership journey also includes serving as Executive Director of AmCham Mongolia, where she drove business advocacy, membership engagement, and bilateral trade initiatives. Earlier at AmCham, she worked as Director of Communications and Membership, strengthening the organization’s visibility and stakeholder network.
Tricia began her career in the United States at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where over five years she progressed to the role of Practice Leader, honing her expertise in operations, team management, and service delivery. She also gained early experience at Job Compass LLC in Mongolia and as a Public Relations Intern with Mediation & Conflict Resolution Services in Virginia.
Tricia holds a Master of Science (M.S.) in Corporate and Professional Communication from Radford University, equipping her with a strong foundation in organizational communication, conflict resolution, and stakeholder engagement.
