New Delhi, India, October 2024 – Tushar Makkar has joined ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India as the Corporate Communications Head. In his new role, Tushar will lead corporate communications, managing external and internal strategies to strengthen the brand’s presence and reputation in India’s fast-evolving steel industry. His role will also focus on aligning communication efforts with the company’s sustainability and growth initiatives.
Prior to joining ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India, Tushar served as Senior Vice President at Adfactors PR, where he worked for one year and five months. During his tenure, he was responsible for leading communication strategies for large-scale clients in diverse sectors, leveraging his deep expertise in public relations and corporate communications.
Before Adfactors PR, Tushar spent four years as Group Chief Communications Officer at GMR Group, overseeing the company’s communication strategy across its infrastructure, airports, and energy sectors. He played a pivotal role in building the corporate narrative and enhancing stakeholder engagement during a period of significant expansion for the group.
Tushar’s experience also includes serving as Group Head of Corporate Communications at the Arvind Group of Companies for one year and nine months. There, he focused on reputation management and building communication frameworks that aligned with the group’s growth in the textile and apparel sector.
Earlier in his career, Tushar co-founded Consocia Advisory and worked with Edelman India as a consultant, demonstrating his entrepreneurial spirit. He co-led reputation management and public affairs services during his seven-month stint, expanding his influence across diverse industries such as sustainability and public relations.
