Uday Zope Appointed as Senior Vice President at Elara Capital

Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, May 2025 – Uday Zope has been elevated to the role of Senior Vice President at Elara Capital, where he continues to bring deep domain expertise in investment banking with a focus on the pharmaceuticals and healthcare sector. In this new capacity, Uday will further drive M&A, equity capital markets, and advisory services for high-impact healthcare transactions across the region.

Uday has been with Elara Capital for nearly seven years, holding progressively senior positions. Most recently, he served as Vice President – Investment Banking, Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare, where he played a critical role in several strategic deals including the IPO of Dharmaj Crop Guard Ltd, advisory on Endura Mass’s brand sale to Cipla Health, and multiple Offer-for-Sale mandates for companies like INEOS Styrolution, Shalby Hospital, and Dishman Carbogen Amcis.

Before joining Elara, Uday was a Principal and Founding Team Member at Brightlight Consulting LLP, where he advised emerging companies on fundraising and market value strategies. Notably, he helped Bodal Chemicals raise ₹225 Cr through a Qualified Institutional Placement.

Earlier, Uday served for over nine years at Genesis Management Consultancy Services Pvt Ltd as Vice President – Pharma & Healthcare M&A, where he led landmark transactions including the sale of Cosme Farma to Adcock Ingram, the acquisition of Ochoa Labs by Ranbaxy, and strategic acquisitions by Piramal Enterprises.

Uday’s professional journey began in pharmaceuticals with operational roles at Dr. Morepen, Piramal, Mars Life Sciences, Emil Pharmaceuticals, and internships at Lupin and Abbott. He later transitioned into financial services with equity research and consulting roles at Dolat Capital and Cornerstone International Group, giving him a well-rounded view of both the business and financial aspects of the pharma sector.
