With a rich global career spanning more than 17 years across top consumer brands, Varun will lead the company’s marketing and growth strategy for its premium and luxury portfolio, driving innovation, brand equity, and consumer engagement across key markets.
In his new role, Varun will be responsible for strengthening Diageo India’s leadership in the premium and luxury spirits category, fostering deeper brand resonance, and accelerating strategic expansion in high-value segments. His appointment aligns with the company’s continued focus on premiumization and experiential marketing to enhance the evolving preferences of India’s luxury spirits consumers.
Before this, Varun served as Vice President Marketing – Category Head, IMFL Brands at Diageo, where he led the brand strategy for its core IMFL portfolio, delivering growth and competitive differentiation in the Indian beverage landscape. His leadership was instrumental in redefining brand positioning, portfolio management, and the adoption of data-driven marketing practices across key categories.
Varun’s career spans over 17 years, including a notable 15-year tenure with PepsiCo, where he held multiple international roles such as Marketing Director – Global Customers, Marketing Director – Global Flavours, and Global Senior Brand Manager – Mountain Dew, working across the United States, Ireland, and India. He began his professional journey with Perfect Relations as Associate Image Manager, where he developed his foundation in communications and brand management. His global exposure and proven expertise in developing culturally resonant marketing strategies make him a valuable addition to Diageo India’s leadership team.
