New Delhi, India, September 2025 — The Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB), Department of Personnel & Training, Government of India, during its meeting held on 17 September 2025, recommended Shri Varun Kumar Shukla for the post of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Hindustan Salts Limited. His rich career across public and private enterprises positions him strongly to lead India’s only Central Government Public Sector undertaking engaged in the manufacture of salt.
Varun Kumar Shukla has been serving with Richardson & Cruddas (1972) Ltd. for more than seven years. He joined the organization as Deputy General Manager in 2018 and was elevated to General Manager in 2020. In this leadership role, he contributed significantly to strengthening operations, driving organizational efficiency, and steering business growth for the engineering PSU.
Prior to this, he worked with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for over nine years as Assistant Director Telecom, where he oversaw telecom operations and played a key role in service delivery in the Meerut region. His contributions during this tenure reflect his ability to manage large-scale operations and regulatory frameworks.
Earlier, he gained valuable experience in the IT sector. At Aricent Group, he served as Senior Software Engineer for more than three years, contributing to advanced telecom and software engineering solutions. He also worked briefly with CSC and Infosys as a Software Engineer, where he began his career developing core technical skills.
This diverse experience across software engineering, telecom, and public sector enterprises underscores his versatility as a leader, making him well-prepared to take on the CMD role at Hindustan Salts Limited.
