Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, March 2026 — The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced the appointment of Venkata Ramakrishna Jana as Regional Head Human Resources – North & East and New Businesses. In this role, he will lead the HR strategy for IHCL’s operations across the North and East regions while supporting the organization’s expanding new business verticals.
Jana has been associated with The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) for over six years and has played a pivotal role in strengthening the company’s human resources framework across multiple geographies and business units. Prior to his current appointment, he served as Associate Vice President Human Resources – Corporate New Businesses, where he contributed to shaping people strategies that supported the company’s evolving portfolio and growth initiatives. Earlier, he held the position of Associate Vice President – Human Resources, South India, International and Expressions, where he oversaw HR operations across diverse markets and business segments, enabling talent development and organizational capability building.
Before joining IHCL, Jana spent over eight years with Marriott International, where he held several leadership roles in human resources. He served as Multi Property Director of Human Resources, where he spearheaded HR and training operations, built talent pipelines, strengthened employee engagement, and partnered closely with executive leadership to drive business outcomes. Earlier, as Director of Human Resources and Manager Human Resources, he led HR policy implementation, recruitment strategy, performance management, and employee development initiatives across hotel operations.
Earlier in his career, he worked with Meru Cab Company Pvt. Ltd. as Manager – Human Resources & Subscriber Induction, where he handled recruitment, HR communications, compensation restructuring, and HR ERP implementation across India. He began his professional journey in the hospitality sector with Accor Hotels, contributing to HR operations at Novotel Hyderabad and the Hyderabad International Convention Centre, and supporting the pre-opening of the Ibis Hotel in Gurgaon. He also worked with Resource Inputs Ltd. as Executive – Human Resources, gaining foundational experience in HR processes and organizational development.
With nearly two decades of experience spanning hospitality, mobility, and services sectors, Venkata Ramakrishna Jana brings deep expertise in HR leadership, talent strategy, and organizational development. His new role at IHCL reflects the company’s continued focus on strengthening its people leadership as it expands its hospitality footprint across India and global markets.
