Hyderabad, Telangana, India, March 2025 – Venkatesh Natarajan has been appointed as Principal, Head of Vanguard Technology Office, India, marking a major milestone in Vanguard’s global expansion and strategic investment in direct technology talent across regions. As Vanguard celebrates its 50th anniversary, the launch of its new Technology Office in Hyderabad underscores its commitment to innovation, digital-first operations, and enhancing investor experience through advanced technology solutions.
The Hyderabad office represents Vanguard’s first direct presence in India, a region where the firm has partnered with third-party technology providers for more than a decade. This move strengthens Vanguard’s technology workforce globally and reflects its intent to harness world-class engineering talent from India to build next-generation solutions for its more than 50 million clients.

Prior to his new appointment, Venkatesh Natarajan served in multiple leadership roles at Vanguard in Malvern, Pennsylvania. Most recently, he was Principal, Head of Personal Investor Digital Channels Engineering, where he led innovation in client-facing digital platforms. He also held roles such as Head of Personal Investor Channels, Capabilities and Platforms Engineering, and Head of Enterprise MarTech, CRM & Employee Experience Platforms, where he drove strategic transformation initiatives across Vanguard’s digital ecosystem.
Before joining Vanguard, Venkatesh was Vice President of Marketing, Media, & Interactive Commerce Experience Technologies at Qurate Retail Group, where he led a global team at QVC and HSN and drove digital transformation initiatives in the retail sector. His earlier leadership experience includes serving as Director of IT eCommerce and Mobility at Lowe’s, and over a decade at Walmart, where he contributed significantly to multi-channel digital strategies and eCommerce growth, particularly at SAMSCLUB.COM.
Venkatesh began his career in India at TVS & Sons and later served as a software consultant for Sigma Project Services (now nTrustInfoTech) before moving to the U.S. to join Walmart.
