Bentonville, Arkansas, United States, January 2026 — Walmart has appointed Latriece Watkin as Chief Executive Officer of Sam’s Club, marking a significant leadership transition within its warehouse retail business. A veteran Walmart executive, Latriece brings deep merchandising, operational, and enterprise leadership experience built over more than 15 years with the organization.
In her new role, Latriece will lead Sam’s Club’s strategic growth agenda, overseeing merchandising, member experience, and long-term value creation while strengthening the brand’s competitive position in the U.S. warehouse retail market.
Latriece most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Merchandising Officer at Walmart, where she led several high-impact categories including Baby, Beauty, Household Essentials, Personal Care, Optical, OTC, and Pets. Her leadership has been instrumental in driving category transformation, strengthening supplier partnerships, and advancing customer-centric merchandising strategies across Walmart’s U.S. business.
Over the course of her Walmart career, Latriece has held multiple senior leadership roles, including Executive Vice President and Senior Vice President, gaining broad exposure across merchandising, real estate, and enterprise operations. Earlier in her career, she also served at Sam’s Club in merchandising roles and held the position of Senior Director – Real Estate at Walmart, providing her with a deep understanding of both the Sam’s Club business model and Walmart’s broader ecosystem.
Her appointment as CEO reflects Walmart’s confidence in her ability to combine strategic vision with operational discipline and customer-focused leadership.
