Toronto, Ontario, Canada, June 2024 – Yvonne Morley has joined Scotiabank as the new Director, Global HR Communications. Yvonne brings over 15 years of extensive experience in strategic communications and human resources to this new role, ready to enhance HR functions across multiple regions.
Yvonne Morley has been with Scotiabank for over ten years. Prior to her current role, she served as the Director, Strategic Planning and Initiatives for a year, where she was responsible for strategic thinking and relationship building in a hybrid setup based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Before that, she was the Director, Change Management and Communications for over three years. In this role, she focused on employee engagement, strategic thinking, and relationship building.
Yvonne also served as the Senior Manager, Retail Customer Growth, Channel Management for four months and the Senior Manager, Retail Deposits, Investments and Payments for nearly six years. Her responsibilities included developing and implementing strategic internal communications, creating internal training materials, and managing stakeholder relationships. She also played a crucial role in financial and reputation risk management and product launches.
At American Express, Yvonne worked as a Marketing Analyst – Membership Rewards, Communications for nearly two years. She devised and implemented strategies for Membership Rewards communications, managed external vendor relationships, and handled a budget of $500,000. She also increased American Express Canada’s Facebook followers significantly and launched the company’s first digital, mobile-optimized Holiday Catalogue.
Earlier in her career, Yvonne held the position of Public Relations Officer at the Gaelic Athletic Association of London, where she was responsible for promoting the association throughout Britain, managing media relationships, and organizing fundraising events. She also served as the Community Development Manager at the Provincial Council of Britain Gaelic Athletic Association, providing administrative support, organizing events, and implementing strategic plans.
At Bank of Montreal (BMO), Yvonne held various positions, including Branch Manager, Technology Effectiveness Coach, and Account Manager. She provided financial planning advice, managed high net-worth commercial clients, and conducted training sessions. She was recognized as a top performer and rated exceptional in annual performance reviews.
