London, United Kingdom, June 2024 – Maris Hanson is promoted to Group Chief Legal & People Officer at Giant Group. Maris is honored to take on this leadership position and looks forward to contributing to the company’s continued success.
Maris Hanson has been a dedicated member of Giant Group for nearly 20 years, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role as Group Chief Legal & People Officer. In this position, Maris will oversee legal and human resources functions, ensuring strategic alignment and operational excellence.
Prior to this, Maris served as Group Legal Counsel from December 2022 to June 2024. During this period, she worked remotely from London, focusing on legal strategy, communication, commercial awareness, and leadership.
From April 2018 to December 2022, Maris was the Group Legal Manager. She managed compliance-driven workforce management solutions using advanced cloud-based technology and smart managed services worldwide.
Maris began her journey at Giant Group as a Legal Manager from March 2014 to April 2018. In this role, she was responsible for managing legal affairs, providing professional support on various legal issues, and liaising with employees on policies and procedures.
Earlier, from February 2012 to February 2014, Maris worked as the Legal and Administration Manager, analyzing legal and regulatory impacts on the business and ensuring compliance with group and regulatory requirements.
She also served as the Operations Administration Manager from March 2009 to February 2012, where she managed multiple back-office departments and provided resolutions on complex queries.
Maris’s earlier roles include Team Leader – Allocations and Expenses from December 2008 to March 2009, and Team Leader – Expenses from May 2007 to November 2008. She started her career at Giant Group as a Finance Assistant from August 2004 to April 2007.
Before joining Giant Group, Maris worked at Tallink Silja Oy in Tallinn, Estonia, as an Accounts Assistant from January 2002 to August 2004. She also held a role as a Sales Consultant from March 2001 to December 2001. Maris gained early experience as a Customer Service Consultant at DHL in Tallinn during the summer breaks from University.
