Laura Puga Appointed as Vice President of People at Tapcheck

Plano, Texas, United States, July 2024 – Laura Puga has taken on a new role as Vice President of People at Tapcheck, a fintech start-up providing on-demand pay solutions for employees. Laura will work closely with senior leadership to align the people strategy with business goals, driving the company’s ambitious growth targets.

Laura Puga joins Tapcheck from Orca Bio, where she served as Senior Consultant & Advisor for around 1 month and as Interim Head of People for approximately 4 months. In these roles, she led people strategies and initiatives to support the company’s mission and growth.

Prior to Orca Bio, Laura was at Telesis Bio for about 4 years and 6 months, holding various positions, including Senior Vice President, People & Culture for 6 months, Vice President, People & Culture for approximately 3 years and 5 months, and Senior Consultant for 7 months. During her tenure, she partnered with the executive leadership team to develop organizational core values, strategic vision, and optimize people processes to attract, develop, and retain top talent.

Laura also worked at Dexcom for around 2 years and 3 months, initially as Director, HR Business Partner for approximately 1 year and 3 months, then as Senior Director, Human Resources for about 1 year. She played a crucial role in growing the HR Business Partner team globally and overseeing Employee Relations and HR Compliance.

Her earlier experience includes Associate Director of Human Resources – Global Operations & Quality at Illumina for approximately 2 years and 3 months, Human Resources Director at Bloom Energy for about 1 year and 4 months, and several roles at Honeywell Aerospace, including Interim HR Director for 7 months and Senior Human Resources Manager for 1 year and 2 months.

Laura began her career at Mars as an Associate Relations Manager for around 2 years and 5 months, and at Alcoa, where she held various positions for approximately 7 years and 1 month, including Plate Mill Plant Manager, Plate Mill Superintendent, and HR Specialist – Diversity Advisor.
