Minneapolis, MN, United States, July 2024 – Tonya Austin has joined CVRx | Barostim as the new Chief Human Resources Officer. With extensive experience in human capital management and executive development, Tonya will lead HR operations to support the company’s growth, culture, and innovation.
Tonya Austin has started her role as the Chief Human Resources Officer at CVRx | Barostim. Based in Minneapolis, MN, she will oversee HR strategies, employee engagement, and talent management to drive organizational success.
Previously, Tonya served as the Head of Human Resources – Medical School at the University of Minnesota Medical School, where she led HR strategies and programs for over 6500 faculty, residents, fellows, staff, and students across the Twin Cities and Duluth campuses. She collaborated with leadership and key stakeholders to advance strategic direction and ensure compliance with employment laws and HR policies.
Prior to that, Tonya was the Chief Human Resources Officer / SVP at AtriCure, Inc., a global medical device company. She led the global development and execution of human capital strategy, including talent acquisition, development, compensation, benefits, performance management, M&A, workforce planning, and employee engagement.
Tonya also held the position of Human Resources Director at Endo Pharmaceuticals, where she was responsible for HR strategy development and execution. Before that, she served as the Vice President of Human Resources at ViTAL, A Toshiba Medical Systems Group Company, managing various HR roles and leading significant HR initiatives.
Earlier in her career, Tonya worked as a Senior Recruitment Consultant at PTC (Parametric Technology Corporation) and as a Human Resources / Recruitment Lead at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
