Deepak Agrawal Appointed as Head of Asset Management (Roads O & M) at Adani Group

Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, July 2024 – Deepak Agrawal has started his new role as the Head of Asset Management (Roads O & M) at Adani Group, marking a significant advancement in his distinguished career.

Deepak Agrawal brings extensive experience and expertise in infrastructure and asset management to his new position. Prior to joining Adani Group, he served as the Chief Executive Officer at Swarna Tollway Pvt Ltd, an investee company of Macquarie Infrastructure, where he played a pivotal role for over five years. During his tenure, he was instrumental in the sale of assets to Highway Infrastructure Trust, achieving significant operational efficiencies and leading the company to attain a high GRESB score.

Before his role at Swarna Tollway, Deepak was the Vice President – Highways BOT PPP & EPC – Operations, Contracts, Planning & Strategy at KMC Construction. He successfully closed a landmark deal with the Brookfield group and led various strategic initiatives to improve operational efficiency and profitability.

Earlier, he served as a Vice President at IVRCL, Rithwik Projects Pvt Ltd, and Totem Infrastructure, managing a portfolio of 26 infrastructure projects. His leadership and strategic planning skills were crucial in driving the company’s growth and operational success.

Deepak’s career also includes a significant tenure at John Laing, where he was the Senior General Manager, responsible for business development and techno-commercial functions for PPP projects in India. He led the start-up of John Laing’s business in India and secured major projects in collaboration with local partners.

In addition, he held the position of Associate General Manager (Highways) at GMR Group, where he managed the assets division for BOT highways and successfully implemented various innovative operational practices.

Deepak began his career at Larsen & Toubro as an Assistant Engineer, progressing to Senior Engineer, and later held roles at AFCONS Infrastructure Limited and HCC. His early career at Essar Projects Ltd involved key responsibilities in the construction of the Essar Steel Plant.
