Chicago, Illinois, United States, October 2024 – Yolanda Johnson-Davis has taken on the role of Chief Human Resources Officer at Gateway Foundation, a leading nonprofit provider of substance use disorder treatment. With over two decades of experience in human resources within Gateway Foundation, Yolanda will now oversee HR strategies, employee development, and organizational culture across Gateway’s multiple locations nationwide.
Prior to this appointment, Yolanda served as the Senior Director of Human Resources at Gateway Foundation, where she played a critical role in shaping employee engagement and training programs. Her leadership over the past two years was instrumental in enhancing performance management and fostering a positive work environment across the organization.
Yolanda’s career at Gateway Foundation spans over 20 years, during which she held multiple HR leadership positions. She served as HR Director for more than a decade, managing various human resources operations, including recruitment, training, and employee relations, across multiple states. In this role, she was known for her contributions to employee learning and development and driving innovative HR policies.
Starting as an HR Manager in 2004, Yolanda successfully implemented key HR initiatives that contributed to operational efficiency and employee satisfaction. Before stepping into management, she held the role of HR Associate from 2001 to 2004, where she worked on foundational HR processes that set the stage for her future growth in the organization.
Before joining Gateway, Yolanda gained early HR experience as an HR Associate at Ryerson, and as an HR Generalist at Lutheran Social Services of Illinois, where she was responsible for recruitment, employee relations, and benefits administration. She began her career in client management as a Corporate Account Manager at Ameritech Cellular.
