Dubai, United Arab Emirates – November 2024 – Uchenna Okpara Izuagba has been appointed as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Gastronaut Hospitality. In this new role, Izuagba will lead HR functions across the company’s brands, including Trove, BOHOX, GMC, and others in UAE, Qatar, Oman, and KSA, with a focus on fostering employee engagement and streamlining HR processes across the region.
In his previous role as Human Resources and Training Director at Gastronaut Hospitality, Izuagba managed extensive HR responsibilities for multiple brands in the Middle East. His efforts included overseeing recruitment, training, and government relations for over 1,100 employees. He developed employee handbooks, created SOPs, and implemented comprehensive training programs. His initiatives in talent acquisition and workforce development solidified the company’s reputation for employee engagement and compliance with regional labor laws.
Prior to his work at Gastronaut Hospitality, Izuagba served as the Corporate Regional HR and Training Manager for Q Food & Beverage, where he led HR and training initiatives for renowned brands like HUQQA and The Galliard Restaurant across the Middle East. In this role, he crafted staffing plans, employment contracts, and training modules, enhancing the workforce’s skills and aligning HR practices with business objectives in the region. His structured approach to recruitment and development was instrumental in driving organizational growth and operational efficiency.
His journey also includes a significant tenure as HR & Training and Development Manager for Q Food & Beverage. Here, he focused on recruiting, training, and onboarding new talent. He introduced innovative employee career development programs and spearheaded improvements in training evaluations and performance assessments. This role allowed him to refine his expertise in aligning HR strategy with company goals while enhancing employee satisfaction and productivity.
Izuagba’s early experience in the hospitality industry includes his work as a Host/Designated Trainer at The Cheesecake Factory in Dubai. Over his three years with the company, he trained numerous employees, led efforts to improve service efficiency, and implemented customer satisfaction strategies. His leadership contributed to a marked improvement in guest experiences, team performance, and operational standards.
