Effective from February 1, 2024, Ngula steps into her new role with a wealth of experience in the financial industry. She joins Bank Windhoek following a notable stint at the Bank of Namibia (BoN), where she served as the Deputy Director responsible for Oversight, Licensing, and Policy within the National Payment Systems Department. During her time at BoN, Ngula was instrumental in managing the national payments ecosystem, covering both domestic and international scopes.

Her significant contributions to digital innovation and the evolution of the financial sector, particularly in digital payments and the payment industry at large, have been well recognized. Ngula’s academic credentials are equally commendable, with an undergraduate degree from Rhodes University and a Bachelor of Honours Degree in Information Systems from the University of the Witwatersrand. She is presently enhancing her qualifications with a Master of Science in Engineering Business Management from the University of Bath, alongside completing various programs and certifications focused on leadership, digital payments, and innovation.

Chapman, in his announcement, emphasized Ngula’s pivotal role in driving forward the developments and innovations in the financial sector, with a particular focus on digital payments. Her mandate includes leading the growth and optimization of e-Money services within Bank Windhoek’s retail banking sector. Her profound background in payment systems oversight and policy formulation makes her the ideal candidate to lead the bank’s e-Money initiatives, paving the way for improved digital payment solutions for its customers.

Chapman expressed his best wishes for Ngula’s success in her new role and confidence in her ability to elevate the e-Money division to new levels of achievement and innovation. Ngula’s appointment is a testament to Bank Windhoek’s dedication to maintaining a leading position in digital banking services, signifying a move that not only enhances the bank’s offerings but also aligns with the global shift towards digitalization in the financial sector, ensuring accessible, efficient, and secure digital finance solutions for all Namibians.
