Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada – November 2024 – Laura Hunter has joined LutherCare Communities as Chief People Officer (CPO), bringing her extensive experience in human resources and organizational leadership. In her new role, Laura will lead LutherCare’s People and Culture Division and the Marketing and Communications Division, supporting LutherCare’s mission to provide high-quality care and support to Saskatchewan residents.
Before joining LutherCare, Laura served as Executive Director of Human Resources with the Government of Saskatchewan. In this role, she spearheaded HR strategies in a unionized public service environment, collaborating closely with senior executives to manage labor relations, talent development, diversity initiatives, and aligning HR practices with the organization’s strategic goals.

Prior to that, Laura held the position of Executive Director of Talent at the Saskatchewan Public Service Commission (PSC), where she led initiatives in talent acquisition, performance management, and diversity. Her responsibilities also included corporate consultation, workforce planning, and the development of employee networks and leadership programs.
Earlier in her career, Laura was the Manager of Talent Development at the PSC, overseeing the design and execution of learning programs that strengthened organizational performance. She has also worked as a Learning and Development Consultant, focusing on adult education and implementing innovative learning solutions.
Laura’s early experience includes roles as an Accessibility Counsellor and Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Regina, where she developed her expertise in diversity, accessibility, and strategic program development.
