Salford, England, United Kingdom – November 2024 – Wendy Doherty has joined TalkTalk as Chief People Officer, bringing her extensive expertise in HR leadership to drive TalkTalk’s people strategy. In this role, she will lead the development and transformation of the company’s talent and culture initiatives, working towards a highly engaged and empowered workforce.
Before joining TalkTalk, Wendy held an Interim Head of HR role at the BBC, where she was a strategic partner within the senior leadership teams of BBC Sport and BBC Children’s & Education. She led a significant HR transformation initiative across BBC’s Content Division, contributing to organizational design and change management to enhance engagement and productivity.
Prior to her tenure at the BBC, Wendy was the People Director for SSP Group Plc in the UK & Ireland, where she directed a multidisciplinary HR team through large-scale growth and strategic change. Her role encompassed leading HR initiatives for SSP’s operations across travel locations globally, partnering with the CEO, and engaging with the global HR community.
Wendy also served as People Director at Bestway Retail, initially with Conviviality Plc, where she led the people strategy for one of the UK’s largest franchised retail chains. She successfully oversaw HR functions during the acquisition by Bestway Group, helping integrate and develop a unified organizational culture across the business.
