Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, January 2025 – Abbott India Ltd. has announced the appointment of Prithwish Banerji as Commercial Director for Women’s Health and Metabolics. With over 20 years of experience across the pharmaceuticals, FMCG, and OTC sectors, Banerji brings a wealth of expertise in strategic business planning, market expansion, and operational efficiency. His leadership will be instrumental in driving growth in the Women’s Health and Metabolics segment at Abbott India.
Prior to this role, Prithwish Banerji served as Vice President at Cipla for nearly 10 months, where he was responsible for strategic market growth initiatives. He also held the position of Senior Director & Group Business Head at Cipla for approximately 3 years, leading significant product portfolios and market strategies.
Before Cipla, Banerji was the General Manager at Unilever for 5 years, focusing on key market expansions and brand development strategies. He also served as General Manager at GSK Consumer Healthcare India, overseeing the performance of critical business verticals for over 3 years.
Earlier in his career, Banerji worked with Boehringer Ingelheim as Head of Marketing and National Sales Manager at Abbott, where he led successful product launches and sales initiatives. His extensive experience includes leadership positions at Pfizer, where he held roles such as Regional Business Manager and District Manager, overseeing large teams and driving exceptional sales growth across multiple regions.
