Nairobi, Kenya, January 2025 – I&M Bank Ltd Group has announced the appointment of Sheila Tiren as Group Executive General Manager, Human Resources (GEGM HR), effective 20th January 2025. With over 20 years of senior HR experience, Sheila brings a wealth of expertise to spearhead the bank’s human resources strategy across its regional operations, ensuring alignment with the organization’s ambitious growth and innovation agenda.
Sheila most recently served as HR Cluster Lead – Commercial at Safaricom PLC, where she focused on HR Strategy and Compensation & Benefits, supporting teams across Channels, Consumer Business, Customer Obsession, and Brand & Marketing for nearly two years.

Before joining Safaricom, Sheila spent over nine years at Absa Bank Kenya, holding the role of Senior People & Culture Business Partner, where she was instrumental in implementing strategic HR initiatives and managing compensation frameworks.
Her earlier career included leadership roles such as Human Resources Business Partner – Retail Banking at Barclays Bank Kenya and Senior HR Business Partner – Personal and Business Banking at Stanbic Bank Kenya, where she gained extensive experience in HR strategy and talent management.
