Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, March 2025 – Michelle McInnis has been promoted to Vice President Human Resources and Indigenous Affairs at YYJ Victoria International Airport, operated by Victoria Airport Authority (VAA). In her new role, Michelle will lead the airport’s human resources strategy and Indigenous engagement, supporting the organization’s commitment to excellence, community partnerships, and inclusion.
Michelle has been with Victoria Airport Authority for over seven years, during which she served as Senior Director Human Resources and previously as Manager, Human Resources. She has led initiatives in compensation and benefits, leadership development, and employee relations, and has been instrumental in building VAA’s strong people-first culture.
Prior to joining VAA, she spent nearly six years at Island Health in various senior HR roles, including Manager, HR Client Services, Specialist in Compensation and Classification, and Manager of the HR Service Centre, where she oversaw services for over 18,000 employees and played a key role in workforce planning and strategic HR initiatives.
Earlier in her career, Michelle held HR leadership roles at StarFish Medical, Schneider Electric, and Western Union Business Solutions, bringing extensive experience in talent management, payroll operations, and health & safety. She also held pivotal HR roles in the biopharmaceutical and technology sectors with Nventa Biopharmaceuticals, Van Isle Marina, and IVL Technologies.
