Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, April 2025 – Bernard McGarrity has stepped into the role of Chief People Officer at John Sisk & Son Ltd, marking a strategic shift as the company continues to evolve its people-first approach to construction excellence. With more than 20 years in the industry and 8 years of impactful leadership at Sisk, Bernard now takes charge of a function aimed at unlocking talent, accelerating development, and shaping a high-performance culture across the business.
Prior to this role, Bernard served as Director of Strategy & Performance at John Sisk & Son Ltd, where he led the development and performance tracking of the Group strategy while overseeing Planning & Project Controls, Digital Project Delivery, and Data Insights functions. He previously held leadership roles within the company as Head of Strategic PMO and Business Performance & Improvement Manager, where he drove cross-functional improvements and strategic project alignment.
Before joining Sisk, Bernard worked at Laing O’Rourke in Australia, where he held several roles including Executive Assistant to the Commercial Director, Senior Planning & Project Controls Manager, and Planning & Project Controls Manager, managing high-value infrastructure and energy projects, such as the AUD $600m Northern Water Treatment Plant and the Port Botany Terminal 3 project.
Earlier in his career, he served as Planning Manager at CPB Contractors (formerly Leighton Contractors) and held planning and project management positions at Solid Support Pty Ltd and Laing O’Rourke Ireland, contributing to major developments like Terminal 2 at Dublin Airport and the M2 Motorway Upgrade in Sydney.
