Baku, Azerbaijan, May 2025 – Rashad Mirzoev has been elevated to the position of Chief Information Officer (CIO) at AccessBank Azerbaijan, marking a significant milestone in his nearly four-year journey with the organization. In his new role, Rashad will lead the bank’s overarching IT strategy, infrastructure modernization, cybersecurity initiatives, and digital banking innovations—critical to enhancing AccessBank’s customer experience and operational resilience.
Prior to this elevation, Rashad served as Director of IT Infrastructure and Operations at AccessBank Azerbaijan for nearly four years. In this capacity, he spearheaded several strategic technology implementations including a state-of-the-art cloud infrastructure (SWIFT included), major internet banking migration, and critical systems high-availability projects such as Temenos (T24) and Compass Plus TransWare. He also led DevOps adoption and introduced agile methodologies, positioning AccessBank for a robust digital future.
Before joining AccessBank, Rashad spent over 13 years at Rabitabank OJSC, where he held progressive leadership roles including Director of the IT Infrastructure Department and Director of the Technical Division. He was instrumental in leading major digital transformation initiatives, such as the migration to hyper-converged infrastructure (Dell VxRail), implementation of fraud prevention systems, and SWIFT cloud transition. He also played a key role in aligning IT with strategic business goals and regulatory compliance.
Earlier in his career, Rashad held technical leadership positions at Rabitabank including Systems & Network Engineering Team Leader and Lead Network Administrator, where he managed server virtualization, designed disaster recovery plans, and implemented ISO 27001 frameworks. His foundational experience in network engineering and support roles at AZCOM ISP and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources provided him with a strong base in operations, security, and customer support.
