Gaborone, Botswana, May 2025 – Luka Disho has joined Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC) as the new Chief Human Capital Officer. In this leadership role, Luka will be responsible for spearheading BTC’s human capital strategy, talent development, workforce transformation, and leadership alignment as the organization continues to strengthen its position in Botswana’s dynamic telecommunications sector.
Luka brings more than 15 years of experience in human resources and talent management, having held senior HR leadership roles across leading financial institutions. Prior to joining BTC, he served as Senior People Business Partner at Absa Bank Botswana, where he played a pivotal role in talent management and the implementation of assessment tools aimed at enhancing organizational effectiveness and employee engagement.
Earlier, he was associated with Barclays Bank of Botswana, where he spent over a decade as an HR Business Partner. During this time, he contributed significantly to people strategy, employee performance frameworks, and leadership development initiatives across the organization.
He began his HR leadership journey at Stanbic Bank, where he served as Human Resource Business Partner for nearly six years. His responsibilities included driving HR operations, leading strategic talent initiatives, and supporting business growth through organizational capability building.
Luka holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in management consultancy from Stellenbosch University, underscoring his deep understanding of strategic HR and business alignment.
