Currently based in London, Sunny leads Baker McKenzie’s International Trade Practice Group and chairs the firm’s Geopolitical Risks Taskforce. His advisory work has spanned complex matters involving sanctions, export controls, and anti-bribery laws, serving Fortune 100 and FTSE 100 clients across diverse sectors. His reputation as a strategic legal mind is underscored by top-tier rankings in Chambers and Legal 500.

Sunny’s global credentials are built on hands-on experience in five of the firm’s offices — Washington DC, New York, Sydney, Hong Kong, and London — which has shaped his understanding of the geopolitical and regulatory challenges faced by multinational clients today. His ascent to Global Chair reflects Baker McKenzie’s commitment to agile, globally coordinated leadership.

As he succeeds Milton W. M. Cheng, Sunny will work closely with the newly formed Global Management Committee to drive the firm’s long-term strategic direction. His leadership will be instrumental in guiding Baker McKenzie through an evolving regulatory landscape, strengthening its global footprint, and reinforcing its position as a trusted legal partner to leading businesses worldwide.
