New York, United States, June 2025 – Chelsea Zonts has been appointed as Vice President, Human Resources at Ascend Wellness Holdings (AWH), a leading vertically integrated multistate cannabis operator. In her new role, Chelsea is responsible for leading HR strategy and operations across AWH’s growing footprint, supporting the company’s mission to deliver top-tier talent and foster a high-performance culture in the rapidly evolving cannabis sector.
Chelsea’s journey with Ascend Wellness Holdings spans over five years, marked by progressive leadership across several HR roles. Most recently, she served as Director, Corporate Human Resources & Total Rewards, where she managed corporate HR and total rewards strategy for just over a year, strengthening HR programs and enhancing employee value proposition. Prior to this, Chelsea was Human Resources Director for more than a year, driving people initiatives and organizational effectiveness at a key stage of AWH’s expansion.
Earlier at AWH, Chelsea held the role of Regional Human Resources Manager, focusing on regional HR leadership, and previously worked in general Human Resources capacities. Her early years at AWH were spent developing foundational HR programs and supporting the company’s workforce through a period of accelerated growth and transformation.
Before joining AWH, Chelsea built her HR expertise at Brembo North America in Homer, Michigan, where she worked for five years. She started as an Administrative Assistant and progressed to HR Generalist, gaining broad exposure to HR operations, employee engagement, and HR process optimization.
