Lisbon, Portugal, May 2024 – Francisca Calheiros Ribeiro has been appointed as the Director of Human Resources for EMEA at ValGenesis. She is poised to drive strategic HR initiatives across the region, focusing on aligning HR strategies with business objectives.
Francisca brings a robust background with over a decade of experience in human resources management within the tech and life sciences sectors. She most recently served as the Director of People at Defined.ai from January 2022 until her recent move. In this role, she was instrumental in crafting and implementing a data-driven HR strategy that aligned with the company’s business goals, particularly focusing on talent acquisition, operations, leadership coaching, and cultural transformation.
Prior to her tenure at Defined.ai, Francisca was the Director, HRBP & Development at the same company, where she managed significant team expansions and established foundational HR practices from June 2020 to January 2022. Her strategic initiatives included performance management systems, compensation structures, and comprehensive training and career development programs which notably enhanced employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.
Before joining Defined.ai, she held the position of Regional Manager, People – Asia Pacific at OutSystems from January 2019 to June 2020. Here, she led HR strategies across the Asia Pacific region, overseeing about 200 employees across 11 countries. Her work involved driving change initiatives, customizing HR solutions to regional needs, and successfully launching operations in new markets like Malaysia.
Earlier in her career, Francisca worked as a People Success Manager – Sr. HRBP, where she designed and delivered strategic HR support for all business units, enhancing company-wide performance and employee engagement from January 2017 to June 2020.
Francisca’s earlier roles include positions at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Nestle S.A., where she developed a strong foundation in HR management, focusing on employee relations, compliance, and HR program development. Her extensive experience is complemented by her initial years in HR consulting with Conceito O2, where she provided tailored HR solutions to diverse clients, laying the groundwork for her later strategic roles in larger organizations.
