Bury, England, United Kingdom, July 2025 – Adele Spencer has taken on the role of Head of People Development at JD Sports Fashion, a prominent leader in global sports fashion retail. In her new position, Adele will lead the company’s learning and development strategies, driving initiatives that strengthen talent development, employee engagement, and organizational growth across JD’s expansive global footprint.
Prior to joining JD Sports Fashion, Adele Spencer served as Head of Learning and Development at Princes Limited for over two years, where she led key initiatives around talent strategy, succession planning, culture change, and employee value proposition. She was instrumental in enhancing learning systems, vendor partnerships, and leadership development programs.
Previously, Adele held a short but impactful contract at Travelex as Learning and Development Manager, where she landed critical learning projects and contributed to strategic implementation. Before that, she worked as Head of Performance at Till Payments, where she oversaw global performance and people development initiatives, aligning business outcomes with shareholder and customer value.
Adele’s earlier tenure at Travelex spanned more than a decade in several impactful roles, including Head of Learning and Development: UK Trading, L&D Business Partner, and various other capacities. Her strategic direction helped shape key training and performance development programs for partners like Tesco Travel Money, Sainsbury’s, and ASDA, among others.
Adele’s foundational years included experience at Golden Eagle Luxury Trains, MyTravel, and Going Places, where she developed a strong base in stakeholder engagement, customer experience, and people leadership, setting the stage for her continued growth in HR and L&D leadership roles.
