Jharsuguda, Odisha, India, September 2025 — Vedanta Ltd. has elevated Ashutosh Dwivedi as Chief Executive Officer – Power. With over 25 years of expertise in the power and energy sector, Dwivedi brings deep knowledge in plant operations, project leadership, and organizational transformation across some of India’s most prominent energy and natural resources companies.
Dwivedi has been associated with Vedanta for several years. Most recently, he served as COO – Power at Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO) in Korba, Chhattisgarh, where he drove operational excellence and efficiency across the power vertical. Prior to that, he was COO – Power at Vedanta’s Aluminium Business in Jharsuguda, where he played a key role in strengthening power operations within one of India’s largest integrated aluminium facilities.
Before these roles, he was Vice President at Nayara Energy in Jamnagar, Gujarat, where he led captive power plant operations supporting one of the largest refineries in the world. He earlier held leadership positions at BALCO as General Manager, where he successfully managed power generation and enhanced operational performance for over four years.
Dwivedi’s association with Vedanta began in 2009, when he joined Vedanta Aluminium as Assistant General Manager, gaining extensive exposure in power plant operations and large-scale capacity expansion initiatives at Jharsuguda. His early career was shaped at NTPC Limited, where he spent nearly a decade as Deputy Manager at the Vindhyachal Super Thermal Power Station, India’s largest power station, contributing to critical operations and process optimization.
With his extensive career spanning NTPC, BALCO, Nayara Energy, and Vedanta, Dwivedi is well-positioned to lead Vedanta’s power business, driving efficiency, sustainability, and innovation in line with the company’s growth vision.
