Richmond, Virginia, United States, September 2025 — Shellie Smith has been promoted to Vice President Human Resources at Unboxed Training & Technology, where she will oversee the company’s HR strategy, people development, and culture initiatives. With more than two decades of progressive HR and leadership experience across multiple industries, she brings proven expertise in organizational development, employee engagement, and HR transformation.
Smith has been with Unboxed Training & Technology for over two years, most recently serving as Senior Director of Human Resources, where she played a pivotal role in shaping HR operations and building scalable people practices that supported the organization’s growth.
Prior to joining Unboxed, she held multiple leadership roles at UnitedLex, including Director of People Experience, Director of Culture & Development, and Director of Learning and Development. In these positions, she focused on enhancing employee engagement, advancing leadership development, and driving people-centric strategies across the organization.
Earlier, she served as Director, HR & Business Operations at ULX Partners and as Director, HR & Administrative Services at LeClair Ryan, gaining significant experience in managing HR functions within professional services environments.
Smith also contributed to nonprofit leadership as Director of Development at the FRIENDS Association for Children, and previously held senior HR roles with Circuit City Stores, Inc., where she helped lead cultural and organizational transformation initiatives. Her career began with leadership positions at ARAMARK and Circuit City, where she developed a strong foundation in HR strategy and operations.
