Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, October 2025 – Shapoorji Pallonji Energy has announced the appointment of Dr. Kavindra Pant as its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). In his new role, Dr. Pant will oversee the strategic human resources agenda for the company, driving leadership development, workforce capability, and organizational excellence as the company continues to expand its footprint in the global energy and offshore engineering space.

Dr. Pant’s professional journey with the Shapoorji Pallonji Group spans over a decade, having served as Head of Human Resources at SP Energy Pvt. Ltd. since 2017. During his tenure, he has been instrumental in building a high-performance HR culture, leading stakeholder management, and supporting the organization’s transformation and growth initiatives. His strategic guidance has been key in aligning people priorities with SP Energy’s engineering and operational ambitions.

Before rejoining the Shapoorji Pallonji Group, Dr. Pant was Deputy General Manager – Human Resources at Mahanagar Gas Limited, where he led HR strategies that supported large-scale operational teams, strengthening performance management and employee engagement systems.

Earlier, he was part of Shapoorji Pallonji Infrastructure as DGM – Human Resources, where he played a pivotal role in developing HR systems and talent processes to support infrastructure expansion projects across India and abroad. His earlier leadership roles include positions at TNT India Pvt. Ltd. as Regional Manager and Manager – Employee Relations, and at HDFC ERGO General Insurance, where he managed talent and engagement initiatives for the insurance business.

Dr. Pant began his HR career with First Flight Couriers Ltd, where he built foundational expertise in people management, operations, and stakeholder collaboration. With over two decades of experience across multiple industries—courier, logistics, insurance, infrastructure, and energy—he brings a diverse and strategic perspective to human capital leadership.

An accomplished scholar, Dr. Pant holds a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Human Resource Management from Symbiosis International University and a Master’s in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management (MIRPM) from Nagpur University.

Prior to joining Apollo, Matt was Chief Talent Officer at BlackRock as well as a member of the Operating Committee. Previously, he held strategy, talent, and innovation roles at Mastercard, PwC, and CEB/Gartner.

Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the boards of the Lumina Foundation, the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society program, the Milken Institute’s Inclusive Capitalism initiative, and Georgetown University’s initiative on AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership. Matt has been recognized as a Top Global CHRO multiple times by n2Growth and Stanford Business School.
