Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, October 2025 — Veteran HR leader Sarma Chillara has joined Boeing India as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), marking a significant milestone in his distinguished career spanning over two decades in strategic HR leadership, organizational development, and global people management.
In his new role, Sarma will lead Boeing India’s human resources strategy, focusing on driving people excellence, leadership development, and cultural transformation across the organization’s diverse business verticals. He will play a pivotal role in strengthening Boeing’s talent ecosystem and shaping the future of its workforce in alignment with the company’s global mission of innovation, safety, and sustainability.
Before joining Boeing India, Sarma was associated with Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited for more than 13 years, where he served in multiple leadership roles, including Member of the Board – Human Resources & People Services, Head – HR Operations & Administration, and Head – Human Resources & Administration (Sales, Marketing & Service). During his tenure, he successfully led strategic HR transformation programs, strengthened leadership pipelines, and championed employee engagement initiatives across the organization.
Prior to his time at Škoda Auto Volkswagen, Sarma worked with leading global and domestic organizations such as Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Citi, and Future Group India, where he played key roles in organizational effectiveness, global talent acquisition, and HR strategy integration. His diverse experience across industries has honed his ability to align people strategy with business objectives while nurturing inclusive, performance-driven cultures.
A lifelong learner, Sarma has pursued executive education at The Wharton School, where he completed the CHRO Program, and at the Indian School of Business (ISB), where he studied Linking HR with Business Strategy. His academic and professional journey reflects his commitment to evolving HR as a business enabler and a strategic partner in growth.
