AQR Capital Management has welcomed Susmitha Sudeep as its new Vice President of HR Business Partnering (HRBP), marking a significant milestone in her illustrious career spanning over a decade in human resources and business consulting. Susmitha brings to AQR a wealth of experience and a proven track record of strategic HR leadership, having worked with leading global financial institutions.
Susmitha has done her MBA – HR from Xavier Institute of Management (XIM Bhubaneswar).
Before her current role at AQR Capital Management, Susmitha was deeply involved in shaping the human resources strategy at Standard Chartered Bank, where she served as the Country HR Business Advisor for the UK. During her tenure from May 2022 to April 2024, she worked closely with the senior leadership and the Europe business management team to align the HR initiatives with the organizational strategy, thereby contributing significantly to the bank’s people agenda.
Prior to her impactful work at Standard Chartered, Susmitha led the HR business consulting team at a prominent firm from May 2021 to May 2022, where she was the lead HR consultant for the end-to-end implementation of SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, a key project aimed at transforming the core HR processes. Furthermore, her role as Business HR at another leading bank from June 2019 to May 2021 saw her undertake senior leadership hiring and spearhead key projects across diversity and inclusion, compensation benchmarking, and employee engagement.
Her early career highlights include strategic roles at ICICI Bank, where she focused on workforce planning, attrition and retention strategies, and HR analytics, along with a foundational project at Ashok Leyland aimed at understanding and managing Gen Y employees. Susmitha’s entrepreneurial spirit was showcased during her tenure as Co-Founder and Business-HR at Aquabeans Retail Pvt. Ltd, where she developed and implemented HR and operational practices for the startup.
