Ltd., part of the Murugappa Group) has announced the appointment of Deependra Sharma as Chief Executive Officer – e-3W. With an illustrious career spanning over three decades in the automotive industry, Deependra brings deep expertise in business strategy, marketing, and sales operations across commercial and passenger vehicle segments.
In his new role, Deependra will lead Montra Electric’s growth in the electric three-wheeler (e-3W) segment, driving innovation, operational excellence, and strategic expansion. His appointment reinforces Montra Electric’s commitment to revolutionizing clean mobility and strengthening its leadership in India’s fast-evolving electric vehicle ecosystem.
Before joining Montra Electric, Deependra served as Senior Vice President – Sales & Marketing at Atul Auto Ltd., where he was instrumental in delivering 33% business growth, significantly expanding the dealer network, and leading transformation initiatives that improved profitability and operational efficiency.
Earlier in his career, Deependra spent over seven years with the Mahindra Group, where he held multiple leadership roles including Head – Sales Strategy, Institutional Sales, Channel Finance, and Exchange, and Senior General Manager – Sales (North & West Zones). He successfully spearheaded key initiatives in sales operations, rural and institutional business, and channel finance, helping enhance market share and customer engagement across regions.
Prior to Mahindra, Deependra built a remarkable 20-year tenure at Tata Motors, where he led several strategic roles such as Head – Retail Marketing PVBU, Head – Marketing (Construction Trucks), and Regional Manager – West, contributing to successful product launches, network profitability, and brand development across segments. His leadership in retail marketing and sales transformation was instrumental in strengthening Tata Motors’ footprint in the Indian automotive landscape.
Deependra began his professional journey at Dynalog Microsystems and Computer Ware India Pvt. Ltd., gaining early exposure in technology and industrial sales before transitioning into the automotive sector. His extensive experience across sales, marketing, and business transformation now positions him to drive Montra Electric’s mission of building a sustainable and scalable EV ecosystem in India.
