Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, November 2025 – Albertsons Companies India has announced the appointment of Anirban Nandi as Vice President, AI & Data, marking a pivotal step in strengthening the organization’s AI-driven transformation strategy. With over 18 years of global experience across retail, e-commerce, BFSI, advertising, and media, Anirban is celebrated as one of Asia’s Top 10 AI Leaders and a four-time Top 100 AI Leader in India, recognized for driving the intersection of technology, data, and business innovation.
In his new role, Anirban will spearhead the company’s enterprise AI and data strategy, focusing on building scalable, intelligent solutions that enhance decision-making, optimize operations, and elevate the customer experience across Albertsons’ omnichannel retail ecosystem.
Before joining Albertsons Companies India, Anirban Nandi served as Head of AI Products & Analytics (Vice President) at Rakuten India, where he led advanced AI and analytics initiatives across e-commerce and advertising verticals. He played a key role in building the Data Science Consulting and Chief Data Office Departments, designing GenAI platforms for personalization, search, credit scoring, and inventory optimization, significantly improving customer engagement and business efficiency.
Prior to Rakuten, Anirban spent over four years with Landmark Group, where he was Assistant Vice President – Data Labs, leading the offshore analytics division. He was instrumental in developing cognitive retail analytics solutions across customer engagement, inventory management, and assortment planning. His work accelerated the adoption of AI and advanced analytics within the organization’s retail ecosystem across the Middle East and India.
Anirban began his career with Target, where over eight years he grew from Associate Business Analyst to Manager – Analytics, leading web analytics, personalization, pricing, and assortment optimization projects for Target.com. His tenure was marked by pioneering initiatives in search relevance modeling, digital attribution, and customer value management, positioning Target’s analytics function among the most mature in global retail.
