Koreel Lahiri Appointed as Chief of Strategy & Innovation at NDTV

Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India, November 2025 — NDTV has announced the appointment of Koreel Lahiri as its Chief of Strategy & Innovation, underscoring the company’s renewed focus on digital expansion, next-generation content, and cross-platform innovation. Prior to joining NDTV, Koreel served as Investment Director – Asia at the Media Development Investment Fund (MDIF), where he managed an Asia portfolio valued at approximately US$40 million, leading investments across India, Southeast Asia, and Latin America. During his tenure, he expanded MDIF’s regional investment strategy to include tech-centric content platforms, and conceptualized two new micro-funds focused on digital media innovation in Asia.

Earlier, he held senior positions as Director – South Asia at MDIF and Chief Operating Officer at the Independent and Public-Spirited Media Foundation (IPSMF), where he established India’s first media-focused investment fund. In these roles, he drove capital allocation, advised portfolio companies on business growth, and helped build sustainable media ecosystems.

Koreel’s earlier career includes leadership stints at Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd. (The Times of India Group), where he served as General Manager – Investments, overseeing deal transactions worth US$160 million and expanding new revenue categories across e-commerce, consumer, and media ventures. Before transitioning into investment management, Koreel spent over a decade in broadcast journalism with CNBC-TV18 and Bloomberg TV India, leading financial markets coverage, newsroom strategy, and programming.

Throughout his journey, Koreel has served on the boards of several high-growth media and technology organizations including Josh Talks, Arré, Asiaville, Gram Vaani, KATADATAcoid, and Hukumonline.com. His experience across content, commerce, and capital equips him to drive NDTV’s evolution as a future-ready, digitally engaged media company, strengthening its connection with Gen Z and Gen Alpha audiences through innovation-led storytelling and data-driven insights.
