Cle Elum, Washington, United States, November 2025 — Suncadia, a premier year-round mountain resort in Washington State, has announced the appointment of Karen Hauck Porter as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). With more than two decades of leadership experience in marketing, brand management, and hospitality communications, Karen’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for Suncadia as it continues to elevate its brand presence and guest experience.
In her new role, Karen will oversee all aspects of Suncadia’s marketing strategy, communications, and brand positioning, driving innovative campaigns to strengthen its foothold as one of the Pacific Northwest’s most recognized resort destinations. She will focus on enhancing the resort’s customer experience, digital engagement, and strategic partnerships while promoting Suncadia’s unique blend of natural beauty and luxury hospitality.
Karen has been with Suncadia since 2023, most recently serving as Vice President of Corporate Marketing, where she played a key role in aligning corporate branding and guest engagement strategies. Earlier, as Senior Director of Corporate Marketing, she led several initiatives that expanded Suncadia’s visibility across digital and hospitality channels.
Prior to her current tenure, Karen gained extensive corporate experience at Microsoft and Amazon Web Services (AWS). At Microsoft, she held multiple leadership roles over more than 10 years, including Senior Marketing Manager, US Public Sector, and Experiences and Operations Manager, Customer Experience Team, where she managed large-scale marketing operations and immersive experience programs. At AWS, she served as Senior Program Manager, Global Executive Marketing, designing engagement programs for enterprise clients and global partners.
Earlier in her career, Karen served as Vice President of Marketing at Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt, overseeing brand vision, digital strategy, and marketing operations for over 300 stores across the U.S. Notably, she previously spent a decade with Suncadia Resort as Director of Marketing, where she managed integrated marketing programs for the 6,400-acre resort and drove continuous year-over-year growth.
