Kolkata, India, July 2026 — Desun Hospitals has appointed Syed Kadam Murshed as its Chief Information Officer (CIO), strengthening its leadership team as the hospital group accelerates its digital transformation initiatives.
In his new role, Syed Kadam Murshed will lead the hospital’s digital ecosystem, ensuring seamless integration of technology and business processes. His responsibilities include developing governance structures to streamline project management and user support, driving initiatives across HMIS, LIS, ERP, and CRM platforms, and collaborating with stakeholders to align technology with organizational objectives while improving operational efficiency.
Commenting on his appointment, Syed Kadam Murshed said:

Prior to joining Desun Hospitals, Syed served as Head of Information Technology Operations & Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Metropolis Healthcare, where he led enterprise IT operations and cybersecurity initiatives.
Earlier, he was AVP – IT at Tata Cancer Care Foundation, driving technology infrastructure and digital transformation initiatives. His leadership journey also includes serving as Vice President – IT at Future Oncology Hospital, Group Head – IT at Medica Hospitals Pvt. Ltd., IT Manager at Videocon Industries Ltd., Regional Engineer at Zee Telefilms Ltd., and Software Engineer at Mutor Computers.
With more than three decades of experience spanning healthcare, information technology, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, and digital transformation, Syed brings deep expertise in building technology-driven healthcare ecosystems that enhance operational excellence and patient care.
