Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, November 2025 — Solara Active Pharma Sciences has announced the appointment of Mohanraj S as its new Chief Human Resources Officer, marking a significant leadership addition to support the company’s growth trajectory in the active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) industry. In his new role, Mohanraj will lead people strategy, culture transformation, and governance initiatives with a strong focus on aligning HR with Solara’s long-term business objectives.
Prior to taking on this leadership mandate at Solara Active Pharma Sciences, Mohanraj S served for nearly seven years as Human Resources Director at Silver Spark Apparel Limited (SSAL), a Raymond Group company. He led the Apparel Manufacturing HR vertical across India and overseas, managing around 10,000 employees across five manufacturing units with a 65-member HR team. In this role, he drove end-to-end HR operations, strengthened compliance frameworks, and collaborated with cross-functional leaders to ensure seamless execution of large-scale HR deliverables within a complex matrix structure.
Before Raymond Group, Mohanraj spent over five years at Mylan Laboratories Limited as Senior Director – Human Relations at the corporate level. He played a pivotal role in strengthening employee relations, navigating industrial relations complexities, negotiating long-term union settlements across multiple plants, and automating key processes. His ability to balance industrial relations with business priorities positioned him as a key strategic advisor across Mylan’s operations.
Earlier in his journey, Mohanraj served for more than three years as Vice President – HR (Corporate) at The Manipal Group, where he re-established the HR function after a prolonged gap, introduced structured delivery verticals, and launched the “MANTHAN” learning initiative. His tenure helped transition the HR department toward a more strategic, process-driven function with strong focus on automation, capability building, and organizational alignment.
Before joining The Manipal Group, Mohanraj contributed close to five years to Tata Advanced Materials Ltd in the role of Deputy General Manager – HRD & Admin, where he revitalized a previously dormant HR function. He secured record-setting wage settlements, introduced e-induction programs, drove recruitment cost savings, and supported manpower expansion as the business scaled. This experience deepened his capabilities in manufacturing HR, labour relations, and organizational optimization.
Across the earlier phase of his career, Mohanraj held progressive HR leadership roles at organizations including Anglo-French Drugs & Industries Ltd., Geneva Fine Punch Enclosures Ltd., Global Green Company Ltd., Biocon, and Strides Arcolab Ltd. Over this period, he built a strong foundation in HR operations, talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, and workforce development across diverse sectors spanning pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, foods, and precision engineering.
